“The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

- Dr. Seuss, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!"

Week of April 11th - Our story this week is The Gardener by Sarah Stewart. Imagine suddenly leaving everything familiar to you and moving to a new place to live with relatives you hardly know. In this first selection, a young girl goes to the city to live with her uncle, but she takes her love of a special hobby with her. Our focus will be on making inferences, compound words, theme and writing letters.

Activities to do at home:
  • Discuss with your child ways that people can help out in their communities.
  • Start growing some plants indoors to transplant later.
  • Discuss ways to help care for the earth.

April reading logs will be due May 1st.

Keep up the terrific work on the reading logs!!! Remember - only 15 minutes a day for 20 days.
This is 10% of your grade!!!!!
